A Manchester trade site that loads in 0.68 seconds

By Measured 4 September 2026

A local paving company competing for high-value domestic work across Greater Manchester. Built to load almost instantly on a phone at the kerbside, and written to rank for the searches that actually bring quote requests.

The problem

What we were up against.

Paving is a considered, high-value purchase bought locally. Most competing sites are slow, template-built and vague about where they actually work. Pro Pave needed to look like the premium end of the trade and be found by people searching for driveways and patios across Greater Manchester.

The work

What I actually did.

  1. Built a bespoke WordPress theme rather than a page-builder, so the homepage renders from eleven requests instead of a hundred.
  2. Wrote the page titles and metadata around real local intent — service, place and phone number visible in the search result itself.
  3. Made the quote request the obvious action on every screen, with the phone number in the header for people who would rather call.
  4. Structured 27 pages of services and locations so each one can rank for its own search rather than competing with the homepage.

The outcome

The site loads completely in under seven tenths of a second with zero layout shift — on a phone, on site, on a poor connection, the quote button is there and stable.
