The work, and who it is for in Northern Ireland

CFC is a family furniture retailer in Cookstown, County Tyrone, trading since 1972, and there are two builds: CFC Interiors, the retail business, and CFC Wedding Lists, a free wedding gift-list service that runs alongside it.

The gift-list platform is the one worth explaining, because it had to be built rather than configured. A wedding gift list is an unusual piece of software: two audiences who never meet, using the same data for opposite reasons. The couple builds and edits a list; dozens of guests then find it, buy from it, and must never see the same item bought twice. Off-the-shelf e-commerce does not model that, so the list and gifting flow were written as a custom system where stock, reservations and guest privacy behave correctly.

The design had to carry the warmth a fifty-year-old family business has earned rather than a generic retail template, and stay stable while doing it: first content in 0.78 seconds with zero layout shift on an image-heavy page.

Worth addressing directly rather than hoping you do not notice: I am in Manchester and you are not. In practice that has been a non-issue across two Northern Irish builds and one in the Republic, because the work is the same work. What you should insist on from any remote supplier is the domain in your name, the hosting in your account, a full working copy if you leave, and no exit fee. All three are standard here.

And before any website work at all: the Google Business Profile. It is free, it takes an afternoon, and for a local business it decides the map pack that sits above every result a website can win. That is an awkward thing to put on a web designer’s page and it is still the right first move.

The same three numbers as everybody else, published rather than quoted on request: from £500 for the build, from £50 a month for hosting and care, and growth blocks from £250 a month if and when the site should start earning more. No setup fee, no management fee, no percentage of ad spend, and no minimum term on anything.
