Cambridge divides in two and the halves want opposite things. The technology and life-sciences cluster sells internationally; the colleges, the tourism and the services for 150,000 residents and several million visitors sell to whoever is standing in front of them.

What a website costsCybrial is a one-person studio in Manchester. There is no Cambridge office. The city’s measured search data from 4 October 2026 is below.
The nearest comparable work at scale is Beds.ie, a 17,000-product retailer where the category structure was rebuilt so all 17,789 products sit in a crawlable hierarchy, data enrichment was automated and the Merchant Centre sync wired to report rejections rather than silently drop them. Organic clicks went from 672 to 7,781 a month between April and August 2026 on Search Console figures. It started from a low base, which flatters the percentage; the method transfers, the multiple does not.
Worth saying plainly rather than hoping you do not ask: I am in Manchester, not Cambridge. There is no local office and this page does not pretend there is one. Two builds in Northern Ireland and one in the Republic of Ireland have run entirely remotely without difficulty, and what you should insist on from any remote supplier is the same list I would insist on — the domain registered in your name, the hosting in your own account, a full working copy of the site if you ever leave, and no exit fee. All four are standard here and they are written down on the pricing page.
And before any website work at all: the Google Business Profile. It is free, it takes an afternoon, and for a local business it decides the map pack that sits above every result a website can win. That is an awkward thing to put on a web designer’s page and it is still the right first move.
The same three numbers as everybody else, published rather than quoted on request: from £500 for the build, from £50 a month for hosting and care, and growth blocks from £250 a month if and when the site should start earning more. No setup fee, no management fee, no percentage of ad spend, and no minimum term on anything.

A 17,000-product furniture retailer that was effectively invisible in search. Five months of retainer work on catalogue structure, product data and technical SEO took Beds.ie from under 700 organic clicks a month to nearly 8,000 — and monthly revenue more than tripled over the same period.
Straight answers
Then the city page is not your market. The sector and service pages on this site will do more for you, and the honest version of that advice is on this page rather than buried.
No, and the page says so rather than implying it. I am one person in Manchester, and the clients with measured case studies here are in Bury, Rochdale, Cookstown and Dublin.
