What a website costsCybrial is a one-person studio in Manchester. There is no Glasgow office and no Scottish presence. The city’s measured search data from 4 October 2026 is below.
Glasgow’s economy is the largest in Scotland: financial and business services, engineering and shipbuilding on the Clyde, a very large public sector and three universities, life sciences, and a creative and digital cluster of real weight. It is also a city with a strong independent retail and hospitality culture, where the map pack does more work than any organic position.
Worth saying plainly: I am in Manchester and there is no Scottish office. In practice that has been a non-issue across builds into Northern Ireland and the Republic, and the things that actually protect you from a remote supplier are contractual rather than geographical — the domain registered in your name, the hosting in your own account, a full working copy if you leave, and no exit fee. All four are standard here. The largest build on this site is Beds.ie in Dublin: 17,789 products restructured into a crawlable hierarchy, organic clicks from 672 to 7,781 a month between April and August 2026 on Search Console figures.
And before any website work at all: the Google Business Profile. It is free, it takes an afternoon, and for a local business it decides the map pack that sits above every result a website can win. That is an awkward thing to put on a web designer’s page and it is still the right first move.
The same three numbers as everybody else, published rather than quoted on request: from £500 for the build, from £50 a month for hosting and care, and growth blocks from £250 a month if and when the site should start earning more. No setup fee, no management fee, no percentage of ad spend, and no minimum term on anything.
The nearest comparable work
A 17,000-product furniture retailer that was effectively invisible in search. Five months of retainer work on catalogue structure, product data and technical SEO took Beds.ie from under 700 organic clicks a month to nearly 8,000 — and monthly revenue more than tripled over the same period.
Straight answers
Four to six weeks for a standard business site once the content is settled, and that holds whether you are in Glasgow or Manchester — the work is the same work.
The Google Business Profile, finished properly, with photographs and a real review count behind it. For the consumer-facing half of this city it decides more than the website does.
Not in practice, and this page says it rather than hiding it. What protects you is contractual: the domain in your name, the hosting in your account, a full working copy if you leave and no exit fee. All four are standard here, and builds have run remotely to Cookstown and Dublin.
From £500 for the build, from £50 a month for hosting and care, growth blocks from £250 a month — in sterling, published, with no setup fee and no minimum term.
