Web Design and SEO for Accountants

By Measured 4 October 2026

Accountancy clients arrive already comparing three firms on fees, and most practice websites answer everything except that. This page is about what to publish instead.

Pricing

from £500

for the build, then from £50 a month hosting & care.

The same three numbers in every sector. No setup fee, no minimum term.

What a website costs

Cybrial is a Manchester studio working with a small number of businesses at a time. There is no accountancy practice on the client list, so this page leads with the market and with the nearest comparable work.

What usually goes wrong in accountants and bookkeepers

Nobody will say what anything costs. Accountancy is one of the few remaining markets where the standard answer to a pricing question is a meeting, and the result is that every practice website says the same four things — proactive, approachable, more than just numbers — while the visitor leaves to find one that will give them a figure. Fixed-fee packages for the common cases, published, are the single biggest differentiator available in this sector and almost nobody takes it.

The site ignores what clients actually search, which is deadlines and panic. Self Assessment in January, payroll year end in April, Companies House filing dates, VAT thresholds, what happens when a penalty letter arrives. That is high-intent, time-sensitive search with a clear commercial outcome, and most practice sites have nothing on any of it — while the firm answers the same questions by email forty times a year.

And the credentials are stated as initials rather than as reassurance. Which body you are a member of, whether the firm is registered for anti-money-laundering supervision and with whom, whether you are chartered and what that actually means for the client. These are verifiable, they distinguish a real practice from someone with a laptop, and they usually appear as a row of logos in the footer rather than as a sentence that explains anything.

What transfers, and what does not

The transferable work is Vehicles 2 Lease, where the whole problem was that every competitor showed the same thing at nearly the same price and nothing told a visitor why to choose one. Restructuring around a clear price hierarchy and an obvious enquiry route took form conversion from roughly one per cent to roughly four, on the client’s own figures. An accountancy practice that publishes fixed fees is making exactly the same move.

What this page cannot show is an accountancy client, and the sector data above is research rather than a result we have produced for a practice.

What you get, and what it costs

The same three numbers as every other page on this site: from £500 for the build, from £50 a month for hosting and care, and growth blocks from £250 a month when you want the site to earn more. No setup fee, no management fee, no percentage of ad spend, no minimum term.

  • A bespoke build rather than a page-builder assembly, so it is fast on a phone rather than fast on your laptop.
  • A page for each thing you actually sell and each place you sell it, so every search a customer might run has somewhere of its own to land.
  • Editable by you, with a walkthrough at handover.
  • The domain in your name and the hosting in your account, with a full working copy if you ever leave.
  • Tracking that counts phone taps as well as forms, because in most sectors the phone is the majority of enquiries.

The nearest comparable work

Vehicles 2 Lease.

Van leasing is a price-comparison market where every competitor looks identical. We rebuilt the site around qualified enquiries rather than traffic — and the client reports form conversion moving from about 1% to about 4%.

Straight answers

Questions from accountants and bookkeepers.

Do you work with accountants?

Not yet, and this page says so. The nearest comparable work is Vehicles 2 Lease, a regulated firm in a market where every competitor looked identical until price and the next step were made obvious.

Should we publish our fees?

For the common, well-defined jobs, yes, and it is the biggest single advantage available to you. Most practices will not, which is exactly why doing it works. Complex or ongoing work can still be quoted after a conversation — the point is to answer the question for the client who just wants to know what a Self Assessment costs.

What content actually brings in clients?

Deadlines and consequences. Self Assessment in January, payroll year end in April, filing dates, what a penalty letter means and what to do about it. It is the highest-intent search in your sector, it is seasonal and predictable, and most practice sites have none of it while answering the same questions by email all year.

What does it cost?

From £500 for the build and £50 a month for hosting and care. A practice with fixed-fee packages, a client portal and a deadline content library is a bigger job and is quoted after a conversation.
