Web Design and SEO for Solicitors

By Measured 4 October 2026

Of everything we have measured, this sector has the widest gap between what a client is worth and how hard the search is to win.

Pricing

from £500

for the build, then from £50 a month hosting & care.

The same three numbers in every sector. No setup fee, no minimum term.

What a website costs

Cybrial is a Manchester studio working with a small number of businesses at a time. There is no law firm on the client list, so this page leads with the market, with what the rules already require of your website, and with the nearest comparable work.

What usually goes wrong in solicitors and law firms

The price information most firms publish is the minimum that satisfies the rule and nothing a client can use. The SRA transparency rules have required published costs for several common areas of work since 2018 — conveyancing, probate, employment tribunal claims, immigration, licensing applications, motoring offences, debt recovery — and the usual response is a PDF of hourly rates with every variable left open. A prospective client wants to know what their matter will cost. The firm that answers that in plain figures on an indexable page is a long way ahead of one that answers it in a downloadable table.

The site is organised by how the firm is structured rather than by what people search. Departments, partners, offices. Nobody types "private client department"; they type what has happened to them, and they type it with a place name attached. Every area of work the firm genuinely does needs a page of its own that answers the question, states what it costs, and says who would handle it — and most firms have one page called Services with a bulleted list.

Then the credibility signals go missing in the same way they do across regulated sectors. Who is actually doing the work, what they are qualified in, how long they have practised, which regulator oversees them and under what number. A law firm has more verifiable credentials than almost any other business and typically shows fewer of them than a plumber.

What transfers, and what does not

The transferable work is Vehicles 2 Lease, an FCA-authorised broker competing where every rival shows the same thing at the same price. The win came from making the offer legible and the enquiry route obvious rather than from being louder: a clear pricing hierarchy, fewer form fields, an unmissable next step, and a phone number kept in reach. The client reports form conversion moving from roughly one per cent to roughly four — their figure, not one we measured. Price clarity converting better than price concealment is exactly the bet the transparency rules are asking firms to make anyway.

What this page cannot show is a law firm. There is not one on the client list, and a page about professional credibility is the last place to be vague about that.

What you get, and what it costs

The same three numbers as every other page on this site: from £500 for the build, from £50 a month for hosting and care, and growth blocks from £250 a month when you want the site to earn more. No setup fee, no management fee, no percentage of ad spend, no minimum term.

  • A bespoke build rather than a page-builder assembly, so it is fast on a phone rather than fast on your laptop.
  • A page for each thing you actually sell and each place you sell it, so every search a customer might run has somewhere of its own to land.
  • Editable by you, with a walkthrough at handover.
  • The domain in your name and the hosting in your account, with a full working copy if you ever leave.
  • Tracking that counts phone taps as well as forms, because in most sectors the phone is the majority of enquiries.

The nearest comparable work

Vehicles 2 Lease.

Van leasing is a price-comparison market where every competitor looks identical. We rebuilt the site around qualified enquiries rather than traffic — and the client reports form conversion moving from about 1% to about 4%.

Straight answers

Questions from solicitors and law firms.

Have you built a website for a law firm?

No, and this page says so rather than implying otherwise. The nearest comparable work is Vehicles 2 Lease, an FCA-authorised broker in a market where every competitor looks identical — a regulated firm with the same problem of standing out without overclaiming.

Will you handle our SRA compliance?

No — that is the firm’s own responsibility and its COLP’s call. What we do is build the price and service information as real, indexable pages rather than a PDF nobody can read on a phone, so that satisfying the rule and winning the enquiry become the same piece of work instead of two.

Should we publish our fees?

For the areas of work where the rules already require it you have no choice, so the question is only whether you do it usefully. Firms worry that publishing costs invites a race to the bottom; what we see in comparable markets is the opposite — the firm that answers the question plainly gets the enquiry, and the one that hides it gets compared on price anyway, in absentia.

What does it cost?

From £500 for the build and £50 a month for hosting and care. A firm with a page for every area of work, several offices and a costs calculator is a bigger job and is quoted after a conversation.
